Please note that this is not in the main Imaging Department and that there are several other MRI facilities also signposted in the Hospital. Travelling to Hammersmith Hospital The Hospital is in East Acton (near White City). Road: Hammersmith Hospital is on Du Cane Road W12 0NN. There is pay and Display parking on Du Cane Road and behind the hospital (via Artillery Lane). Space may be very limited. Bus: Buses 7, 70, 72, 272 and 283 stop outside the Hospital and the 220 on Wood lane (7 mins walk). Tube: The easiest Underground station is White City on the Central Line, which is a 15 minute walk or a 7 minute bus trip (72 or 272 from stop “WE” just over the road). He was appointed as the first British Heart Foundation Chair of Cardiovascular AI in 2024. He is also Director for Imaging Research at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He is committed to science engagement and is a past Roentgen (UK) and Rowan-Williams (Australasia) travelling professor lecturing internationally on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare. He is board member for the British Society of Cardiac MR and sits on the Advisory Council of the British Heart Foundation. He is past Associate Editor for npg Digital Medicine and European Heart Journal - Cardiovascular Imaging, and Guest Editor for Circulation. His research is focussed on using machine learning to discover mechanisms that underpin common cardiovascular diseases by integrating data from human imaging, genetics and environmental risk factors. His work includes developing algorithms for predicting human survival from cardiac motion and understanding how complex traits influence the risk of heart failure. He also collaborates with industry to accelerate progress in drug discovery using automated genotype-phenotype modelling.
